Oakland Dance Team
Savage Royalty is a year-round competitive dance team in Oakland, founded by Candis Smith & her daughter Ca’Zaria in 2021. While the Savage crew focuses on Majorette, this dance company also offers a subset of teams & classes such as Royal Kidz, Hip-Hop, Afro-fusion, Contemporary, Praise Dance, cheer & more! We encourage children ages 5-18 to sign up.
Coach Geneva is one of the coaches that supports with supports with performance choreography and training in Hip-Hop and Afro-fusion.

MEET THE LEADER OF:
Light Step Studio
Geneva comes as a professionally trained dancer, yet today her expressions of dance unfold more intuitively, in deep connection with spirit and earth. Dance has always been her first language and her way of not only healing but communicating ancestrally and spiritually. She has been performing since the age of three and teaching since she was eight. Dance has guided her through many life paths, leading her into herbalism, self-awareness, healing, holistic wellness, deeper breaths, and beautiful communities.
Coach Geneva offers children’s dance classes, flora flow, adult hip-hop, and Afro-fusion. She enjoys sharing movement focusing on healing, recoding, and shifting narratives within our soul contracts and DNA. Whether you engage personally or join collective healing through movement, Coach Geneva strives to create a space that encourages self-awareness, self-tending, love, celebration, accountability, and healing.

Please register only online through our website. Early registration is encouraged as classes fill quickly.

We accept credit/debit cards and PayPal through our secure online system. Payment plans are available on the website. Payment is required at registration.

Tuition is due before the start of each session or monthly cycle. A late fee of $30 applies for late payments. Contact us if you need assistance.

Please notify us in advance if your child will miss a class. Make-up classes are available within the same session or month, subject to availability.
We foster a positive, respectful environment. Students are expected to be kind, listen to instructors, and respect their classmates and studio space. This helps everyone feel safe and supported.

Please keep your child home if they show any signs of illness or are recovering from an injury. This helps protect the health of all students and staff. In case of an emergency during class, our staff will contact you immediately and support your child as needed while waiting for pick up.

We prioritize the health and safety of our community. Our studio follows all local health guidelines and is equipped with air conditioning, fans, a heater, air purifiers, and humidifiers to maintain a clean and comfortable environment. Our classes are designed for children ages 5 and up. To ensure a smooth class experience, all children must be potty trained. Classes are grouped by developmental stages and skill levels to create a positive and supportive environment.

Absolutely! We welcome dancers of all skill levels, from first-timers to experienced performers. Our instructors tailor lessons to meet each student’s needs, encouraging growth at every pace.

We prefer parents to drop off and pick up their children promptly to maintain a focused and safe environment. There is seating available in the front lobby if you wish to wait inside, or you are welcome to wait comfortably in your vehicle in the parking lot.

Yes, throughout the year we host special workshops, intensives, and recitals to enrich our dancers’ experience. Participation details and any additional fees will be shared well in advance.
